In 1982 a group of local community members formed a community theatre billed under the name Community Activites, Inc.
In July of the same year, they performed their very first show: Fiddler on the Roof.
The following year, the group organized the company under Rivertown Players, Inc., a not-for-profit Corporation.
Rivertown Players' mission is to promote, encourage, and develop the enjoyment of, appreciation for and participation in the theatrical arts in Southeastern Indiana.
It is our firmly held belief that theater is for everyone, and everyone has a place in theater.
We offer a safe space to grow and learn that is non-discriminatory, diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
