MARCH 2023
MEMBER in the SPOTLIGHT
Meet Sara Bijayananda. Sara joined Rivertown Players in 2009 when she auditioned for Music Man with her friend. Since then she has participated on the stage, behind the scenes, and has talked friends and family into joining the fun with RTP! She has also shared her love of musical theater outside of RTP by directing musicals at the elementary school where she's worked. She's proud to be a member of the RTP community.
One of her favorite memories with RTP was during a rehearsal for 9 to 5 the Musical. It was during tech week, so pretty close to showtime, and I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to do a good job. During a duet, I opened my mouth to sing and nothing came out. Mike, my scene partner, and I ended up breaking into the biggest giggle fit that we could not recover from. It helped me loosen up and enjoy the process, and it actually took some of the pressure off because I figured I couldn't mess up any worse than that!

What Sara enjoys about RTP is having a creative outlet. But what she treasures most is the friends that she's made! RTP has so many special members, and they all have a special place in her heart.
No matter what your talents are, there is something important that you can contribute to musical theater! You will discover new things within yourself that you never knew were there. You will do more than you ever thought possible. And you will meet people that you can't believe you ever lived without.
